Sexy shoes make me happy

Shopping is powerful. It has the ability to make a frigid day just a little warmer, a dull afternoon just a little more fun, and create instant energy out of fatigue. Shopping is the aphrodisiac for life.
Here's my latest and greatest buy-- a sexy pair of python gladiator platforms from Charlotte Russe. The store was having a "last size" clearance sale, so they were priced at $6.99! How could I resist??
I count the day as a sucess-- not only did I find a pair of shoes on sale that make my legs look incredibly sexy, but I can feel good about the winter workout I snuck in by power walking the mall.

Sale at Alloy.com

I love cute clothes at discount prices. That's why I had to let you know that Alloy is having a cleareance sale! Next to Forever21, it's my favorite place to find the newest trends for less. From tops, to shoes, outerwear, tops, and accessories, shoppers are bound to find something they love. The sizing charts are easy to use and items are easy to return. I ordered a pair of jeans and was very happy with the quality and overall product.

A Season to Give

It's hard to believe the holidays are already arriving. Wasn't I just working on a great tan? What happened to shorts, tank tops, and lemonade by the lake?

Chances are, you've put off holiday shopping and don't even want to think about what to get everyone on your holiday gift list. Tempting as it is to procrastinate once again, take off some stress this year and shop early. Here are some suggestions that not only make great gift ideas, but are also for a good cause.

Made By Survivors

Choose from a selection of hand-crafted items: jewelry, holiday & home, and shoulder bags by visiting this website. All items are made by women who have escaped the sex trade business and benefits programs to fight human trafficking in India.

This website is dedicated to helping injured soildiers by making it possible for families to visit while the soildier is hospitalized. The fund provides rental cars, taxi service, and hotel accomodations to the families of the fallen and has had a huge impact on lifting the spirits of those who are wounded.

Winter Essentials

The last few weeks I've spent preparing for the Fall/Winter changes. The morning air is crisper, the mornings are dusky, and my warm mug of morning coffee is all the more enticing. In preparation for the winter chill, I've started stocking up on a few fashion essentials.

A Robe
It's time to invest in a plush robe. Nothing feels better after a long day followed by a hot shower when you can wrap up in a robe and slippers.
An Oversized Sweater
We're seeing them everywhere this season and it's no wonder everyone's falling in love with oversized sweaters. Pair one with tights, leggings, or over a pair of jeans.

Boots
This is one item you can't do without when the weather turns cold. Boots are great through all kinds of winter, versatile, and WARM!

Scarves
Make sure to have at least one scarf on hand this winter. Besides being warm, you can wear them in so many ways. Tie it around your neck, over your hair, or drape one as a belt.
What is your winter essential?

Spotlight

Alloy is having a shoe sale! I've spotlighted just one of the great finds available. I can see these shoes paired with tights and either shorts or a cute dress.

Black Peep Toe Oxford: $29.50, available in sizes 5-10

I did it!

I did it! I got the chance to go to the mall yesterday and got a great deal on a cute knit dress and added a cinch belt. The outfit is similar to the one below, only in my opinion, my dress is cuter with fuller capped sleeves.

Gray dress from a small store similar to Forever 21:

$14.99

White cinch belt from the same store, ON SALE!:

$3

Best Boutique 2007- New York

Honey in the Rough was recently voted "Best Boutique 2007" and here's why:

Located in New York's lower east side, this store limits itself to dresses made by international designers and specializes in finding practical pieces suggested by their helpful staff. Handmade lingerie from London, jewelry, and candles are also available from around the globe. Makeup artists wait to give you a fresh look just before heading back into the streets, hopefully slinging a new dress.

As a side note, Saturday's are dedicated to eyebrow artist Rosie, who offers free consultations from 12-8pm.

Thread Show, Seattle Winter 2007

Just got back from the Thread Show in Seattle. Nothing like waking up to a winter storm and trekking downtown for a good day of shopping! To be honest though, the turnout was disappointing. The regular throng of eager Seattlelites trickled after the first hour. Vendors typically left with sparse goods were adding more discounts by the end-- nothing to complain about there. I ended up with a leather wristwatch with a delicate chain for half price, able to double as a funky wrist adornment.
If you missed it, you can always visit Baba Yaga Beadwork, The Makeup Project, or Cleo Wolfus Designs--Just a glance at some of the notables
