Prima Donna, a couture bridal boutique, is home to the largest Norwich showroom where brides-to-be shop lavish wedding gowns from private designers. They operate as an indepedent retailer and have some of the most breathtaking dresses I think I've seen yet!

Fashion's Darling, Hayden Panettiere

Cute, sassy, and stylish, I have to dish on Hayden Panettiere. She's the newest pre-teen glamour girl to be holding her own in the Hollywood jungle. With a notable acting career, her pleasing appearance on the red-carpet is impressive for such a pint-sized starlett. We should keep our eye on this young lady-- she's going to be busy trend-setting in 2008.
Hayden loves to flash her winning smile. Seen here at a movie premiere, she pulls off a classy up-do with soft framing around her face.
Hayden's newest endorsement is for Candie's shoes. The ads are flirty and fun, shot with sweet treats and even five fluffy, white puppies-- much to Hayden's delight. She couldn't keep the rolly polly pups out of her dressing room or her lap!

Project Runway Finalist Showcases Line

Say what you will about reality TV, Alexandra Vidal who was a finalist on season one's Project Runway, is making a statement at Fashion Week 2008. Her line of evening gowns take a spin off of period garments mixed with her own touch of modern appeal.
What do you think? Is she out of her league or earning her right to rub elbows in New York?

Short Take from Fashion Week, New York

Take it from the runway fashionistas-- tights and hose are "in" this fall. From matallic sheen to ripped gothic threads, the legs were all the rage. Snagged, striped, or knit, more than one designer gave their own personal touch to revitalize this look.

Try wearing a pair with a layered jumper and ballet flats or skirt and heels.

Congrats-- Times Two!

A big kudos to Jeniffer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony who were blessed by the delivery of healthy twins, a boy and girl, earlier today!

The arrival happened just after midnight.

Let the photographer frenzy begin!

LL's New Low

Lindsey's latest photo stunt may have landed her on the cover of New York Magazine, but the copycat Marilyn Monroe doesn't quite live up to the original. With the Hollywood struggle to find originality, Lohan's attempt to place herself on the same pedestal as the original blonde bombshell did more than show just how little resemblance she bears to the icon; it appears she's lost her own persona. The shots, re-touched to hilt, made her look like the little girl playing dress-up, who hopes to one day fall into the fascade of sex-appeal. It was all unappealing; So much for LL's new image post-rehab.

Best Boutique 2007- New York

Honey in the Rough was recently voted "Best Boutique 2007" and here's why:

Located in New York's lower east side, this store limits itself to dresses made by international designers and specializes in finding practical pieces suggested by their helpful staff. Handmade lingerie from London, jewelry, and candles are also available from around the globe. Makeup artists wait to give you a fresh look just before heading back into the streets, hopefully slinging a new dress.

As a side note, Saturday's are dedicated to eyebrow artist Rosie, who offers free consultations from 12-8pm.

Breakfast for You or Your V-day Beau

The big V-day is crouched and waiting to spring upon us tomorrow. Wether or not you celebrate this holiday, here is a simple plan to be fabulous either way and here's why.

First of all, you deserve high quality, nutritious food, babe! (Preferably prepared by a hot foreign chef, but hey we are the new generation of self-sufficient females.) You don't need to lay in bed and be hand-fed. We can get our own feet on the floor and create delicious aromas ourselves... and change the oil in our cars afterwards! Or at least drive it to a station, ha ha

Second, eating breakfast helps you stay skinny. Ask any nutritionist or diet expert. I'm serious!

Third, no animals were harmed in the making of these items, no fake sweeteners with aluminum aftertaste, or chemicals to prolong the shelf-life to an absurd lifetime.

I don't normally post recipes, but decided to put up one vegetarian and one vegan option I found. (Of course both may be prepared vegan by substituting the frittata with egg substitute and veggie cheese.)

The 2008 Grammy Awards- A Short Take

After a long day of charming paparazzi and rubbing elbows with the best in the business, the celebrities from last night Grammy Awards are no doubt sleeping off the parties and receiving first class foot massages. In the meantime, the fashion world has gotten busy pulling out their magnifying glasses of scrutiny to scream healdines over botched performances and fashion awww's and flaws.
"Glamor! Disgust! Scandal!!!" they scream in exclaimation!
And it's my turn to get in on the action.

I'll start with the golden girl of the night. Maybe I'm being too harsh on Nelly's golden glow-- falling into a tub of bronzer right before her scheduled appearance would deserve a little forgiveness. Bangles that clink into a snake-like neckpiece just didn't work. You might be able to argue for one or the other, but I say stud diamonds would have done an accomplished female vocalist good.

Nelly Furtado

Seal loves white and it loves him just as much. His eye-catching pearly duds would have been perfect had he balanced it out with the right pair of shoes. I would have liked to see at least a patent white dress shoe. Isn't this the footwear of choice for shoelace-impaired toddlers attending playdates?

Seal

Tim and Faith are such a classy couple. This dress is stunning and understated enough not to look like promwear. Kudos all around here.

Time McGraw and Faith Hill (in Valentino)

This flapper look just doesn't work for me. The gaudy plastic glitz just doesn't speak "glam." With all the fabulous designers anxious to lend their best gowns, all I can ask is "Why??"

Corrine Bailey Rae

She may be new to red carpet events, but she doesn't have to look it. Poor Colbie look like the average California girl bopping around the mall or even sunbathing on a beach. I can't help but feel sorry she didn't have better guidance before stepping out in her sundress.

Colbie Caillat

This dress was deceiving. As I gazed down a flattering silver sheath, I ran right into the secret mermaid underneath with much surprise. It gives the impression a peasant was called in to finish when our creative designer got too tired to meet deadline. Such a shame. Had he not passed off this promising piece, it could have been such a strong statement.

Skinny Bitch-- Have you picked it up yet?

Have you picked up a copy of Skinny Bitch?
If you ever felt like getting a boot in the hiney for motivation to get skinny, this is a good start. You can't be lazy about what you eat or raid the fridge without guilt while this book sits staring at you. But it's simple, and it works. Using some of their advice does make you feel healthier and skinnier.... if only sticking to the lifestyle and staying away from 'fat' foods wasn't so hard.
In my opinion, society wants us to be fat and wants us to be skinny all at the same time. No wonder we're confused with yo-yo diets and weight fluxuations! We don't know what size to be!
Okay, enough from me...
For your own copy, go to half.com where it retails for around $5. (Regular retail is $13.95)
From the author's pen, "Skinny Bitch delivers the truth about food, so that you can make intelligent and educated decisions for yourself. This knowledge will empower you to become a skinny bitch."
I'd love to hear what other readers thought of this book.

A Few Favorites From Fashion Week

Marc by Marc Jacobs, Luca Luca, Ports 1961, and many more designers did their best to impress during Fashion Week, enticing a roster of celebrities including Eva Longoria and J-Lo. It's no wonder Hollywood can't stay at home!

Get ready for some changes because this season's fashions are worth pulling into your own wardrobe.

Designer Luca Luca (Right)
Designer Meenal Mistry (Left)

I love furs!-- It was so exciting to see Luca Luca incorporating it into the Spring line.
Meenal Mistry's red dress was elegantly seductive with a brilliant fabric that skated over the model, creating movement that stayed feminine.

Designer J. Mendel (Right)
Designer Meenal Mistry (Left)

J. Mendel slitted his evening gown to steal the runway. This is the dress I picture models fighting over behind the curtain.
Hallelujah! Striped tights are perfect for almost any figure and are definately a 'must have' this season-- slender, long legs instantaneously anyone?
